6AL-4V Characteristics

• Excellent mechanical properties: high strength, specific strength about 3 times that of steel, taking into account both lightweight and bearing capacity; Good toughness, strong crack resistance, suitable for structural parts welding; Low temperature does not lose plastic, high temperature does not soften.
• Stable chemical properties: resistant to seawater, acid, alkali, salt spray corrosion, and stable in chemical, marine, and medical environments close to pure titanium. The surface is prone to the formation of a dense oxide film without the need for additional anti-corrosion coatings.
• High welding performance: suitable for TIG, MIG, plasma welding, electron beam welding, low porosity and crack tendency of welds, can be used to process high-quality stainless steel or other alloy products.
• Good biocompatibility: anti-fatigue, non-toxic, and non-repulsive, can be used for medical implant welding, and is suitable for long-term placement in complex body fluid environments without deformation.

Titanium Wires Process

(1) Prepare high-purity titanium sponge and aluminum vanadium intermediate alloy (Al-V), and batch according to the ratio of Ti-6Al-4V.

(2) Melt 2~3 times in a vacuum self-consumption electric arc furnace to reduce the impurity content and ensure uniform composition.

(3) Forging the ingot in multiple fires, gradually forging it into Φ20-50mm bars, and cooling it to below 500°C after hot processing.

(4) From coarse to fine, the deformation amount of each pass is 10%~15%, and gradually pulled to the target diameter.

(5) Intermediate annealing must be carried out to eliminate stress, restore plasticity, and prevent tearing and cracking.

(6) Precision straightening and surface treatment, mechanical polishing and chemical pickling to remove drawing scratches and oxide layers.

(7) Comprehensive quality testing, such as non-destructive testing, composition analysis, dimensional accuracy inspection, mechanical property testing, etc.
