Cobalt-based alloy is an alloy with cobalt as the main component, containing a considerable amount of nickel, chromium, tungsten and a small amount of alloying elements such as molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, titanium, lanthanum, and occasionally iron. Depending on the composition of the alloy, it can be made into welding wire, powder for hard surface welding, thermal spraying, spray welding and other processes, and can also be made into castings, forgings and powder metallurgy parts. The alloy can be widely used in industries such as internal combustion engines, aviation, valves, and steam turbine manufacturing.

Cobalt-based alloys can be classified into wear-resistant alloys, high-temperature resistant alloys and aqueous solution corrosion alloys according to their uses. Under normal working conditions, they are actually wear-resistant and high-temperature resistant, or wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Some working conditions may also require high-temperature resistance, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance at the same time. The carbon content is medium (0.5% to 1.6%), the ductility is poor, but the wear resistance, thermal shock resistance and high temperature resistance are better. This type of alloy can be used as the sealing surface material of steam valves and chemical valves and the coating of castings.

Stellite 4, 12 alloy

The hardness is higher than Stellite 6, with higher wear resistance, but poor mechanical impact resistance. Stellite4 is a casting alloy that can be machined and has excellent high temperature strength. It is used for hot pressing and hot extrusion dies for copper-based alloys and aluminum alloys. Stellite12 is a machineable hard-facing alloy. It is often sprayed on the surface of long knife blades used in plastics, papermaking, chemicals and other industries.

Stellite 20 alloy

With a carbon content of up to 2.5%, they are difficult to machine and have strong wear and corrosion resistance. They can be used for pump sleeves and rotating seal rings in centerless grinders, wear plates, bearing sleeves and workpiece fixtures.
