2.forging
The forging deformation process is the most important means to ensure the ideal properties of titanium alloy materials. At present, more than 80% of industrial titanium alloys are used as deformed titanium alloys, such as forgings, forging bars and rolled profiles.However, incorrect forging process often causes some bad metallurgical defects in titanium alloy products, which will continuously deteriorate their mechanical properties, thus causing potential harm to the normal use of titanium alloy products, and also causing a lot of waste to production and use manufacturers.
Common forging defects in titanium alloy processing mainly include overheating and uneven structure, voids, cracks, etc. These defects are mainly caused by improper control of process parameters during the forging process of titanium alloy products.Generally, They are very easy to find in the microstructure inspection or ultrasonic testing of titanium alloy products.Through research and analysis, in order to prevent the occurrence of forging defects, we can choose suitable forging equipment according to different characteristics of titanium alloy materials in the forging process to control the deformation rate, forging heating temperature, pass deformation and cooling rate after forging.
