Titanium has a density of only 4.51g/cm³, but its tensile strength can reach 900-1200MPa (some titanium alloys, such as TC4, have strength comparable to medium-carbon steel). This can significantly reduce component weight while maintaining structural strength.

Titanium spontaneously forms a dense titanium oxide passivation film (about 5-10nm thick) in air or aqueous solution, and this film has "self-healing properties" and performs far better than stainless steel and copper alloys in harsh environments.

Process
①Melting
Using vacuum consumable arc melting (VAR) or triple vacuum consumable melting to produce a titanium alloy ingot with uniform composition.
②Forging
The ingot is heated to an appropriate temperature (e.g., 800-1000°C) and subjected to multi-directional forging to refine the grain size and improve microstructure uniformity.
③Hot Rolling
After heating, the forged billet is rolled through a hot rolling mill into bars of the desired diameter, such as from an 80mm x 80mm square billet to a 20mm diameter bar.
④Annealing
Heating the billet at a specific temperature (e.g., 800°C) for a specified time (e.g., 1.5 hours) eliminates stress and improves microstructure stability.
⑤Straightening
Using press straightening or roller straightening to ensure bar straightness.
⑥Grinding
Removes surface oxide layers and defects, improving dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
⑦Polishing
Further improves surface finish.
⑧Flattening
Smooths the end faces of the bar.
⑨Inspection
Includes dimensions, surface quality, mechanical properties, and non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic testing).
