Cobalt Alloy 6b powder is a cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloy powder, a face-centered cubic solid solution alloy, which is widely used in the Stellite alloy series. The content of carbon and tungsten is moderate, and the toughness is good. It has good corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, impact resistance and adhesive wear resistance in a fairly wide range below 800 °C.

Among the above Stellite heat-resistant and wear-resistant alloys, stellite6B and stellite6K can be produced by forging. The elongation exceeds 5% and 2%, respectively; the hardness is around 40HRC and 45HRC, respectively. The remaining grades, because the hardness exceeds, the toughness is less than 1%; they can only be produced by casting.

Stellite alloys classification and main grades

According to the classification of use, Stellite alloys can be divided into Stellite wear-resistant alloys, Stellite high-temperature alloys and Stellite wear-resistant and aqueous solution corrosion alloys. Under normal working conditions, it is actually both wear and high temperature resistance or wear and corrosion resistance. Some working conditions may also require high temperature resistance, wear and corrosion resistance at the same time. Under these circumstances, the advantages of Stellite alloy can be reflected more.

The material hardness of Stellite heat-resistant and wear-resistant alloys is HRC40 to HRC65, and the heat-resistant temperature is 600°C to 1200°C. Compared with nickel-based alloys and iron-based alloys, Stellite alloys have better thermal fatigue resistance. At the same time, the hot hardness of cobalt-based alloys is also more advantageous, that is, with the increase of temperature, the hardness of cobalt-based alloys decreases more slowly.
