Cobalt-based alloys can be divided into cobalt-based wear-resistant alloys, cobalt-based high-temperature alloys and cobalt-based aqueous corrosion-resistant alloys.This Cobalt Base Alloy Rod has high strength, ductility, good mechanical properties, and is age-hardenable. Stellite alloys have a higher melting point than nickel (or iron) alloys, which enables them to absorb stress at higher absolute temperatures. In many environments high corrosion resistance, low relaxation temperatures up to 380°C (715°F) and thermal fatigue properties and weldability are required.At temperatures above 980°C, cobalt-based alloys have very good weldability, high strength, excellent thermal fatigue resistance, hot corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

Cobalt-based alloy rods are widely used in aerospace and modern military fields, such as making aviation jet engines, guide vanes for naval gas turbines, and diesel engine nozzles.The use of cobalt-based alloys containing 20%-27% chromium in the structural materials of aircraft turbine engines can achieve high oxidation resistance without using any protective coating.Cobalt-based alloy rods are considered the industry standard for general-purpose wear-resistant applications, exhibiting excellent resistance to many forms of mechanical and chemical degradation over a wide temperature range and maintaining reasonable hardness at 500°C (930°F) level. It also has good impact resistance and resistance to cavitation erosion.
