Process
① High-purity tantalum ingots (purity ≥99.9%) are selected and further refined through vacuum arc remelting to eliminate impurities that could compromise performance.
② The tantalum ingots are processed into hollow tube blanks via drilling or extrusion piercing, laying the foundation for subsequent forming operations.
③ First, the tube diameter is expanded through extrusion. Subsequently, multiple passes of cold rolling (or hot rolling) reduce the wall thickness. Finally, the outer diameter, wall thickness, and roundness are precisely controlled via a drawing process.
④ Vacuum annealing (800-1200°C) is performed after each plastic deformation step to relieve work hardening and prevent brittleness.
⑤ Surface scale is removed via acid pickling, followed by straightening to correct deformation. After precision cutting to length, tubes undergo ultrasonic testing and dimensional inspection.
⑥ Final testing verifies purity, corrosion resistance, dimensional tolerances, and other specifications. Qualified products are packaged for shipment to international markets.
