Characteristics
Excellent high-temperature mechanical properties
In a high temperature environment of 1000-1400℃, it can still maintain a high tensile strength and hardness, and is not prone to slow deformation (creep) due to continuous stress, which is far superior to pure molybdenum and most metal materials.
Excellent corrosion resistance
Compared with pure molybdenum, the carbide strengthening phase formed after adding titanium and zirconium further enhances its anti-oxidation and corrosion resistance, and has good corrosion resistance to a variety of molten metals (such as zinc, aluminum, magnesium) and furnace gases (such as hydrogen and inert gases).
Good thermal and electrical conductivity
The thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity are close to those of pure molybdenum (about 1/3 of copper), and it can still efficiently transfer heat or current at high temperatures. It is suitable for components that require both high temperature resistance and conduction functions.
Excellent processing performance
It has a certain degree of ductility at room temperature and can be processed into bars or parts of complex shapes through forging, rolling, cutting, and other processes. It has better plasticity at high temperatures, which is convenient for hot forming.

Application

Process
The preparation process of TZM alloy needs to combine powder metallurgy, plastic processing, and heat treatment to ensure uniform material composition, dense structure, and excellent mechanical properties.
① Select high-purity molybdenum powder and add a small amount of titanium, zirconium, and carbon powder. Put it into a ball mill for uniform mixing.
② Load the mixed powder into an elastic mold and perform cold isostatic pressing to make a cylindrical blank with a certain strength.
③ Vacuum sintering (low temperature, medium temperature, and high temperature) to improve the density of the alloy.
④ Refine the grains through multiple forgings, and forge the blank into a rough blank close to the size of the bar.
⑤ Roll or draw the rough blank into a high-precision bar while improving the surface finish.
⑥ Recrystallization annealing treatment to eliminate processing stress and balance strength and ductility.
⑦ Perform cutting, grinding, and other processing according to customer needs to obtain the final size and perform surface polishing.
