1. Characteristics

-Physical characteristics

The density is about 6.5g/cm³, the melting point is as high as 1852℃, and it can still maintain stable performance in high temperature environment.

The thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity are good, which can meet some scenarios with certain requirements for thermal conduction and electrical conduction.

The linear expansion coefficient is smaller than that of titanium, about 2/3 of that of titanium, with small welding deformation and low stress, which is conducive to welding processing.

-Chemical characteristics

It can maintain good corrosion resistance in most inorganic acids, organic acids, alkaline solutions, salt solutions and some molten salts. However, it is not corrosion-resistant in a few media such as hydrofluoric acid, ferric chloride, cupric chloride, aqua regia, concentrated sulfuric acid, and wet chlorine.

A protective oxide film with good adhesion will spontaneously form on the surface. This oxide film has a strong self-healing ability in the presence of oxygen, and can effectively protect the zirconium 702 substrate from corrosion and damage even at a high temperature of 300℃.

-Mechanical properties

The tensile strength reaches 380MPa, the yield strength is 205MPa, and the elongation is 16%. It has high strength and certain ductility, and can withstand a certain degree of external force without breaking or excessive deformation.

2. Application

-Aerospace field: It is suitable for manufacturing certain parts in aircraft engines, such as some high temperature resistant and corrosion resistant structural parts, which helps to improve the safety and reliability of flight.
