Characteristics
Excellent corrosion resistance
Zirconium has good tolerance to various acid and alkali solutions such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and organic acids. Even when it is exposed to high-pressure water or steam at 300-400°C for a long time, its corrosion rate is extremely low.
Good high temperature stability
Zirconium has a melting point of 1852°C and is not easily melted at high temperatures. It also has good oxidation resistance (within a certain temperature range, the oxide film can prevent further oxidation), and maintains structural stability in extreme temperature environments.
Excellent nuclear performance
Zirconium has a weak ability to absorb neutrons and will not consume too many neutrons produced in nuclear reactions, so it can effectively maintain the continuation of nuclear fission chain reactions.

Process
① Raw Material Preparation: Zirconium sponge is purified and then melted in a vacuum consumable arc furnace or electron beam melting furnace to remove gases and impurities, and then cast into uniform zirconium alloy ingots.
② Forging: The billet is first subjected to upsetting, followed by multiple forging passes to roll it into a bar blank close to the target diameter.
③ Heat Treatment: Annealing restores the material's plasticity and reduces its hardness, preparing it for subsequent rolling or stretching.
④ Rolling and Stretching: Multiple passes of hot and cold rolling further reduce the bar diameter, improving dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
⑤ Straightening: Pressure straightening or roller straightening is used to apply external force to slightly deform the bar in the opposite direction to ensure straightness.
⑥ Surface Treatment: Pickling, grinding, or polishing are performed to improve surface finish and extend service life.
