Zirconium exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in most organic and inorganic acids, salt solutions, strong bases and small amounts of molten salts, and is completely resistant to most solvents at all concentrations except hydrofluoric acid.Zirconium metal is suitable for smelting under any full thermal conditions, regardless of material or flux mixture, with little or no corrosion or oxidation resistance to zirconium crucibles. Zirconium crucible is a good performance crucible suitable for the fusion of sodium carbonate and sodium peroxide. It has the advantages of high melting point, high strength and hardness, excellent thermal conductivity, excellent electrochemical corrosion resistance and high temperature oxidation resistance.
Application:Because zirconium has better mechanical strength and good thermal stability at high temperatures than most other metals, zirconium crucibles are ideal for melting other precious metals. The outstanding thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance of zirconium crucibles make them widely used in smelting industry, chemical corrosion resistant equipment and high temperature superconducting materials.In addition, zirconium crucibles are also widely used in medical equipment (such as zirconium implants), electric light source parts and electric vacuum components, electrodes for rare earth metal refining, PVD sputtering materials and heating elements and refractory parts in high temperature furnaces.Compared to nickel crucibles, zirconium crucibles cost more, but since the amount of melt in zirconium crucibles is much higher than other metals, not only is it more cost-effective, but it can also be recycled multiple times, which actually happens to avoid samples pollution.
