Tantalum is very ductile and can withstand various machining operations such as cutting, stamping, deep drawing, punching and rolling.Tantalum sheets are produced by powder metallurgy process or electron beam machining and have a fine internal structure and smooth surface. Tantalum sheets have excellent chemical properties, high corrosion resistance (easy to form a protective film), high melting point, high density, high hardness, good hydrogen absorption and hydrogen release capabilities, and excellent biocompatibility.

The metal tantalum is often used in laboratory equipment as a replacement for platinum. Tantalum sheets are widely used in machining, metallurgical manufacturing, glass ceramics, aerospace, chemical industry and atomic energy industry.Since tantalum sheets are non-toxic and have very good biocompatibility, they are often used in medical prostheses or medical instruments to repair damaged human tissue. In the electronics industry, tantalum sheets are often used to make electrolytic capacitors, electrodes, evaporators and rectifiers for electronic tubes.
