Description:Beryllium is a steel gray brittle alkaline earth metal with high strength, light weight, low density, active chemical properties, elastic modulus 50% higher than steel, and can form a dense surface oxide protective layer. Beryllium sheets are produced by powder metallurgy, selecting high-quality beryllium powder, vacuum hot pressing, making billets, and then rolling, and maintains excellent high thermal conductivity at high and low temperatures,which is an ideal thermal conductor. Because of their excellent permeability to X-rays and other forms of ionizing radiation, beryllium sheets are the most common window materials for X-ray equipment, low-energy photon sources, and components for particle physics experiments.

Application:Due to its light weight, low density and high thermal conductivity, beryllium sheets are widely used in the military, aerospace and electronics industries. For example, pure beryllium sheets are used in military fighter jets that require speed and maneuverability to enhance the surveillance and targeting performance of fighter jets. Beryllium sheets can also act as a good heat shield, absorbing a lot of heat as satellites and spacecraft pass through the atmosphere at high speeds to keep them safe.Of course, beryllium sheets are most commonly used in the medical industry, including imaging equipments, diagnostic and analytical disease equipments, and laser equipments. They provide focusing windows for x-ray tubes and detectors in high-resolution medical radiography, which are maintaining a vacuum inside the X-ray tube.
