Rolling and Heat Treatment of Molybdenum Lanthanum Alloy Plate and sheet

After the molybdenum-lanthanum alloy billet is prepared at 1500 ℃, it is warmly rolled and cold rolled to plate with a thickness of 2.4 mm. The pass processing rate is 25%~35%, and the total processing rate is 80%. The rolled molybdenum lanthanum plates were annealed in a hydrogen furnace at 1100, 1250, 1400, 1550 and 1950°C, respectively.

The rare earth element lanthanum does not react chemically with molybdenum, and exists in the molybdenum matrix in the form of lanthanum La2O3. In the alloy powder, the rare earth lanthanum is embedded on the surface of the molybdenum powder particles in the form of La2O3. In the sintered billet, the La2O3 particles are evenly distributed, not only on the molybdenum grain boundaries, but also in the molybdenum grains. The particle size of the rare earth particles on the grain boundaries is generally larger than that in the grains. Rare earth oxide particles mainly exist in spherical and equiaxed form;

When the molybdenum-lanthanum alloy plate is heat treated below 1400℃, the La2O3 particles are extremely small and difficult to identify. After heat treatment above 1400 ℃, the small La2O3 particles aggregated into larger spherical or short rod-shaped small particle strings, and after 1550 ℃, with the increase of heat treatment temperature, the size and shape of La2O3 particles did not change much.
