Characteristics
Strong high-temperature performance
The melting point of molybdenum is as high as 2620℃, which is one of the highest melting points among common metals. This allows molybdenum foil to maintain stable mechanical properties (strength, hardness) and structural integrity in extremely high temperature environments (such as 1000-2000℃), and will not soften, deform, or oxidize due to high temperature.
Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity
The electrical conductivity of molybdenum is about 35% of that of copper. Although its thermal conductivity is not as good as that of precious metals such as copper and silver, it performs well among high melting point metals. This property enables it to be used as a conductive or thermal conductive medium and withstand high temperature environments without the failure of conductive materials at high temperatures.
Good machining performance
Molybdenum foil can be processed into complex shapes through rolling, stamping, welding, and other processes to meet the structural requirements of different scenarios. At the same time, it has high strength at room temperature (tensile strength of about 500-800MPa), is not easy to break, and is suitable for the manufacture of precision components.
Excellent chemical stability
Molybdenum has good corrosion resistance to air, water, most non-oxidizing acids, and organic solvents at room temperature; at high temperatures, surface coating (such as nitriding) can further improve oxidation resistance. This makes it suitable for components in corrosive environments.

Application
- High-temperature heating and heating elements: vacuum furnaces, sapphire growth furnaces, heating belts of high-temperature sintering furnaces, heating sheets, etc., for use in semiconductor material sintering and ceramic sintering processes.
- Semiconductor and electronics industry: Molybdenum has a similar thermal expansion coefficient to silicon (Si), and is very suitable for use as sputtering targets (molybdenum foil as a substrate or shielding layer), lead frames, electrode materials, etc., in chip manufacturing to improve device reliability.
- Aerospace: It can be used as high-temperature components, such as rocket engine nozzle linings and spacecraft thermal protection layers. It can not only withstand high temperature and high-pressure environments, but also be lightweight (relatively lighter than tungsten foil, reducing structural loads).
- Energy and nuclear industry: Molybdenum is radiation-resistant (molybdenum has a small neutron capture cross-section) and high temperature-resistant (high temperature environment in nuclear reactions), and is very suitable for use as heat exchanger components of nuclear reactors, electrodes of solar cells, etc.

Process
①High-purity molybdenum powder is prepared by the hydrogen reduction method, and then large particles are removed by a vibrating screen to ensure uniform distribution of powder particle size.
②Put the molybdenum powder into the mold and cold isostatically press it into a molybdenum billet with a certain shape and density, providing a basic form for subsequent sintering.
③High-temperature sintering converts the loose green billet into a dense molybdenum ingot, eliminates pores, and improves density and strength.
④Rolling is the process of gradually thinning the sintered molybdenum ingot to the target thickness (0.01-0.1mm) through multiple rolling.
⑤After completion, low-temperature annealing is carried out to eliminate the residual stress of the final rolling and stabilize the size (avoid deformation in subsequent use).
⑥Surface cleaning and electrolytic polishing treatment to improve surface finish.
⑦Finally, comprehensive quality inspection is carried out, such as dimensional accuracy inspection, surface quality, mechanical properties test, etc.
