Material selection and processing

Application
Stellite 6b Round Bar is suitable for various high temperature, high pressure, continuous wear and corrosion environments, such as aerospace, petrochemical, power engineering, natural gas extraction, food industry, shipbuilding or biomedicine.
- Aerospace: Cobalt Alloy 6b Bars are often used to manufacture high temperature parts of engines, such as nozzles, combustion chambers, etc., to improve engine performance and safety.
- Chemical Industry: Used to manufacture high temperature bearings, valve stems and pipeline system components, etc., to improve the service life and reliability of valves.
- Oil Extraction: Used to produce wear-resistant parts such as drill bits and drill rods, reduce the frequency of component replacement, reduce drilling costs, and improve mining efficiency.
- Nuclear Power Industry: Used to manufacture high temperature resistant support parts for nuclear power equipment to ensure the safety and stability of power production.
Differences between Alloy 6b and other cobalt-based alloys:
1. Characteristics
Wear resistance: Alloy 6B has excellent wear resistance and a low friction coefficient. However, some cobalt-based alloys with tungsten carbide as the main strengthening phase may have higher wear resistance than 6B, especially in high-hardness particle wear environments.
Corrosion resistance: Alloy 6B has good corrosion resistance to a variety of corrosive media. However, when facing some strong oxidizing acids or high-temperature, high-concentration specific corrosive media, some cobalt-based alloys with more corrosion-resistant elements such as chromium and molybdenum will have better corrosion resistance.
2. Application areas
Stellite 6b: Commonly used in the manufacture of valve parts, pump plungers, food processing equipment, etc., it performs well in environments with both wear and corrosion.
Other cobalt-based alloys: For example, some cobalt-based alloys with higher high-temperature strength are more suitable for high-temperature parts in the aerospace field, such as turbine blades, while some cobalt-based alloys with better thermal shock resistance are often used in industries such as glass manufacturing.
