Cobalt Based Alloy Disc
Cobalt Based Alloy Disc Description
Material selection and processing
Metal elements such as cobalt, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and carbon are first mixed and vacuum melted, and then made after precision casting and powder metallurgy processing. Subsequent surface polishing or surfacing can be done to improve the finish and wear resistance. Before packaging, we must carry out comprehensive quality inspection such as composition analysis, non-destructive testing, and performance testing to meet international standards.
Characteristics
- Outstanding high hardness, excellent wear resistance, effectively extending service life
- High strength, good toughness, strong impact resistance, good fracture resistance
- Excellent tolerance to many corrosive media, and excellent corrosion resistance to seawater
- High melting point, good high-temperature resistance, and oxidation resistance
- Good thermal stability, low thermal expansion coefficient, thermal fatigue resistance
Cobalt based Alloys Casting Parts Disc Application
- Industrial valve: stellite 6 disc used as the key parts of the sealing surface and wear parts, not only can achieve a good sealing effect, but also reduce the friction loss between the parts, and improve the service life and reliability of the valve.
- Aerospace: Stellite Disc suitable for engine high-temperature components, and hydraulic system sealing components, to ensure the stable and safe operation of aircraft.
- Petrochemical: often used as corrosion - and wear-resistant lining or components to ensure the normal operation and service life of equipment.
- Machining: Used as bearing parts, improve the wear resistance of parts and transmission efficiency, reduce the maintenance cost of industrial equipment
Advantages of Stellite Valve Disc over other metals used as valve sealing materials
- The hardness is as high as HRC40-60, which is much higher than ordinary stainless steel. It can effectively resist the erosion and wear of solid particle-containing media, and its service life is significantly extended.
- Its tolerance to acid, alkali, seawater, and high-temperature oxidizing environments is better than most steels, especially it remains stable above 600℃, which is better than ordinary heat-resistant steel.
- Compared with ceramics (such as alumina and silicon carbide), Stellite alloy has higher toughness and is not easy to crack due to impact or thermal stress.
- The sealing surface can be partially strengthened by surface treatment technologies such as surfacing and cladding, and the cost is lower than the overall use of expensive materials (such as Hastelloy).
