As one of the rarest precious metals, iridium is characterized by high chemical stability, strong corrosion resistance, excellent electrochemical and mechanical properties, high melting point but easy oxidation, high plasticity but difficult processing, and is the only metal that still retains excellent mechanical properties in high temperature 2000 ℃.Iridium is the most corrosion resistant of all metals and is insoluble in all acids, alkali salts and liquid metals under normal pressure. Pure iridium electrodes must be drawn by vacuum arc melting in an inert atmosphere of 1000°C, and polished after vacuum melting.
FANMETAL supply the pure iridium electrode with purity 99.95% , which can be used in spark plug and iridium ball bonding at semiconductor ball bonding .The iridium electorde end shape can be spherical round end or cone type.

Application:As an inert anode material,pure iridium electrodes can be used in the electrolytic chlorine industry. Due to the stable chemical properties and strong corrosion resistance of iridium, iridium electrodes can be used as catalysts in the chemical industry.Pure iridium can be electrochemically "activated", forming a layer of iridium oxide on the metal surface, giving it special electrochemical properties, which improves the stimulation performance of iridium electrodes, making it better used in the electronics industry, electric light source industry , high temperature equipment, rare earth smelting equipment.

Advantages and disadvantages
Compared with tungsten and stainless steel, platinum-iridium alloys have lower accompanying impedance, higher charge transfer capacity, and better electrochemical stability. The content of iridium in the alloy greatly improves the mechanical hardness and stiffness, giving the electrode a bending resistance close to that of tungsten.
Provides excellent and versatile microstimulation performance, allowing safe stimulation with small probe sizes.
