Iridium is a very hard and brittle metal with a high melting point (up to 2400°C), stable chemical properties and excellent corrosion resistance. Pure iridium is mostly used to makealloy, chemical scientific instruments, thermocouples, aircraft spark plugs, resistance wires and high-purity crucibles.Iridium crucibles can be produced with high-density iridium plates by plasma double melting process or plastic deformation process, and then use them to manufacture high-precision crucibles.Iridium crucibles are often divided into three categories, casting crucibles, rolling welding crucibles and spinning iridium crucibles. The iridium crucibles manufactured by the spinning forming process have a smooth surface, uniform thickness of inner and outer walls, no seams and no solder joints, and very high product accuracy, which is conducive to the extraction of high-end crystals and greatly improves the service life of iridium crucibles.
Application:Iridium is an ideal replacement for platinum/rhodium alloys for the most innovative and demanding applications, including glass making and growing high-purity single crystals. Its advantages include: higher mechanical strength than zirconia particle stabilized alloys, stable to reduction (although they may require some oxidation protection, which we can provide), resistance to chemical attack. Stability in air up to 2000°C.Iridium crucible is an important container material for precious metals and radioactive heat sources. Iridium crucibles are often used to grow refractory metal oxide single crystals, including scintillation crystals for mobile phones, scintillation crystals for liquid crystal display backlights, and scintillation crystals in metal scanners.
