Knowledge About Tungsten Copper Alloy Electrodes

Nov 07, 2022

Tungsten copper alloy is extruded refractory material (tungsten or tungsten compound) at high temperature, after sintering, infiltrating metal copper or silver, and then through a series of mechanical processing to form a relatively hard alloy material. Tungsten copper alloy combines the advantages of metal tungsten and copper, and has the characteristics of high melting point, corrosion resistance, strong electrical and thermal conductivity, high physical properties, high temperature resistance and wear resistance.

Among them, tungsten copper electrode products have many advantages, such as high temperature non-softening, high strength, high hardness, high density, high temperature strength, arc ablation resistance and heat dissipation block. It is mainly divided into the following types of electrodes:

1. Resistance Welding Electrodes

It combines the good properties of tungsten and copper, high strength, large specific gravity, easy processing, high hardness, high melting point, anti-adhesion, and is often used as a welding butt welding electrode with certain wear resistance and high and low temperature resistance.

2. EDM Electrode

It is often used in the die casting of tungsten steel or high temperature super hard alloy. The common electrode has large loss and slow speed, but the tungsten-copper electrode has high speed, low loss rate, accurate electrode shape, excellent processing performance and corrosion resistance, ensuring that the accuracy of the workpiece is greatly improved.

3. High Voltage Discharge Tube Electrode

The workplace of high-voltage vacuum discharge tubes needs to contact materials from zero to thousands of degrees Celsius within a few seconds, so the high toughness, ablation resistance and good electrical and thermal conductivity of tungsten copper can provide necessary stable conditions for the discharge tube .
