Description:

Cobalt Base Alloy is a cemented carbide resistant to various types of wear and corrosion as well as high temperature oxidation.That is,the so-called cobalt-chromium-tungsten (molybdenum) alloy or cobalt-based alloy. The performance of  6K is better than that of 6B, respectively, in terms of wear resistance, carbide uniformity, retention, matrix rigidity, stability and oxidation resistance, and processability (moderate heat treatment). Usually steel depends on the high hardness of the tempered martensite layer and the toughness support provided by the pearlite layer to meet the cutting requirements.

Cobalt Base Alloy 6k Blade is different.Its matrix is chromium-cobalt alloy, the matrix hardness is about 48RC, and its cutting mainly relies on carbide particles evenly embedded in the matrix, including iron carbide, chromium carbide, molybdenum carbide, tungsten carbide and other particles.In the matrix of these four carbide particles, the hardness of chromium carbide in the micron-level matrix is 72RC, the hardness of molybdenum carbide is 81RC, and the hardness of iron carbide is 90RC.

Application:

Cobalt Base Alloy have excellent high temperature oxidation resistance and cavitation resistance.Depending on the composition of the alloy, it can be made into welding wire or cutting tool,as well as casting and forging and powder metallurgy parts,which are widely used in metallurgy,aerospace, petrochemical and steam turbine manufacturing industries.

Industrial knives made from Cobalt Base Alloy stay sharp for more than 4 times longer than other hardened alloy materials,have a long service life and can withstand particularly harsh cuts.The 6K blades excel in certain applications.For example, Cobalt Base Alloy blades are excellent at cutting meat and vegetables and have a firmer grip than steel blades. But if it is used for chopping hard wood, the effect is relatively poor.
