Overview
Pt Rod is a rod-shaped material made of the precious metal platinum. It is widely used in high-temperature industries (such as quartz glass melting, thermocouple temperature measurement), catalysis (automotive catalysis, fuel cells), precision measurement (platinum resistance temperature sensor), biomedicine (pacemaker electrodes, implantable devices) and high-end scientific research because of its high melting point of 1768℃, acid and alkali resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance, excellent catalytic activity and stable electrical properties.
Characteristics
Good thermal stability
Platinum has a high melting point and is not easy to soften, melt, or creep in a high-temperature environment. It also has a low thermal expansion coefficient (8.8×10⁻⁶/℃) and excellent dimensional stability.
Extremely chemically inert
Platinum does not react with air, water, and most acids at room temperature, and its resistance to highly corrosive media such as chlorine, bromine, and sulfides is significantly better than that of metals such as nickel and titanium.
High catalytic activity
Platinum has excellent catalytic activity for reactions such as hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, and oxidation, and the active site density can be further increased through surface modification (such as nanostructuring).
Good biocompatibility
Platinum is a paramagnetic material. It is not easy to adsorb proteins or cells on its surface, and no metal ions are released. It can play a long-term and stable role in repair and monitoring functions in the human body.

Process
We use high-purity platinum material and place it in a dedicated crucible for high-temperature melting. Then, the molten platinum is poured into a pre-prepared mold and cooled to form a platinum ingot. Subsequently, the ingot undergoes mechanical processing such as forging, rolling, and drawing until it reaches the required size and specification.
Finally, the platinum rods undergo surface treatment and inspection to ensure they meet relevant standards and requirements. This may involve processes such as polishing, cleaning, and measuring dimensional and shape tolerances.
